Privacy Policy

Ari is a Chrome extension that helps you understand where your browsing time goes. This policy explains what data Ari collects, when, and why — and it's split into two parts, because Ari works two different ways depending on whether you create an account.

1. Using Ari without an account

By default, Ari needs no account and no sign-up. Your browsing activity, time tracking, streaks, and category breakdowns are computed and stored entirely in chrome.storage.local — on your own device. None of it is transmitted to our servers, and we have no visibility into it. Uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage deletes it for good.

2. Using an Ari Account

Signing in is optional. It lets you keep more than the first 7 days of history available inside the extension, and is where any future account-based features will live. It's done through Google, and involves the following:

Account & sign-in

• Your email address and display name, from your Google account.
• An internal account identifier, used to link your data to your account.

Feedback

• If you submit the feedback form, we store what you write (the category, title, and details) and your email address if you choose to provide one, so we can read it and reply if needed.

3. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run Ari. They only receive what's needed to do their job:

• Cloudflare — hosts our servers and database, which stores only feedback submissions and account data (email, display name, account identifier). Nothing else.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

4. Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Feedback submissions may be retained longer to help us track and act on recurring issues.

5. Your rights

You can request a copy of your account data, ask us to delete it, or close your account entirely at any time by emailing us. If you'd rather not share any data with us at all, simply don't create an account — Ari's core time-tracking features work fully offline.

6. Children's privacy

Ari isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
